Brisbane storms arrive fast and drop a lot of water in a short time. Most storm-related water damage we see isn’t the flood itself — it’s water finding a way in through a gutter, a roof or a blocked drain that was already struggling.
Before the season
Clear gutters and downpipes so they can actually move water, check the roof for lifted or cracked tiles, and make sure stormwater drains around the property are clear. These are cheap jobs that quietly prevent the expensive ones.
When water gets in
If a storm pushes water through the ceiling or under a door, treat it like any water event: make it safe, contain and divert the water, and get it extracted and dried before mould has a chance to start. Storm water can also carry contaminants, so it’s not always a “mop it up” job.
If you’re staring at a wet ceiling right now, the 24/7 line is the fastest way to get a crew moving before the damage spreads.
