Not all meth testing is the same, and knowing the difference saves you money and time.
Screening
A composite or screening test is fast and answers one question: is methamphetamine present above the screening threshold across the sampled area? It’s the right first step for a property with an unknown history, or before you buy.
Detailed assessment
Where screening comes back positive, a detailed (individual-sample) assessment by a suitably qualified assessor defines exactly where and how much contamination exists. That’s what informs a decontamination plan — you don’t want to treat a whole house when the problem is one room.
We’ll advise where we believe a detailed assessment is warranted. Proceeding without one is the property owner’s decision — but for anything beyond a simple clear result, it’s usually the smart money.
