A stain on the ceiling is the symptom, not the problem
Ceiling and wall stains, bubbling paint, a musty smell or a sheet that’s starting to sag — these all mean water has been sitting inside the structure. The visible mark is small compared with the wet plaster, timber and insulation behind it.
A sagging or bulging ceiling can also be a safety risk: waterlogged plasterboard is heavy and can come down. The right approach is to find and stop the source, make the area safe, then dry the cavity properly so it doesn’t come back as mould.
We trace the water back to its cause — a roof leak, a plumbing failure, a bathroom above — dry it out with the ceiling or wall opened only as much as needed, and document it for your insurer.

Common questions
My ceiling is sagging — is that dangerous?
It can be. Waterlogged plasterboard is heavy and can collapse. Keep people and pets out of the room, put a bucket under any active drip, and call us — making it safe is the first thing we do.
Can you find where the leak is coming from?
Yes. We use thermal imaging and moisture meters to trace water back to its source, whether that’s the roof, a plumbing line or a bathroom above.
Will the ceiling need replacing?
Sometimes the sheet can be dried and saved; sometimes it’s better replaced, especially if it’s sagged or been wet a long time. We’ll give you an honest call either way.
How do I know the mould won’t come back?
Because we dry the cavity to a verified reading and treat the affected materials — and if mould is already established, our Mould Assassins crew can inspect and remediate it properly.
