Overview

Why the bathroom is where mould always wins

Bathrooms and the ceilings above showers are the most common place mould shows up in a Brisbane home — because they combine everything mould needs: warmth, moisture, and often not enough ventilation to clear the steam. That’s why the black spots on the ceiling, grout and silicone keep coming back no matter how often you scrub.

The fix isn’t a stronger spray — it’s treating the mould properly and reducing the condensation and poor airflow feeding it. We clean and treat the affected surfaces safely, and give you clear, practical advice on the ventilation changes that actually stop it returning.

Where mould has got into the ceiling cavity or there’s a hidden leak above, we’ll find it — and our Flood Responders crew can dry it out if water is involved.

Why choose us

Why Brisbane calls Mould Assassins

We treat the cause

Scrubbing alone never lasts in a bathroom — the moisture has to be dealt with.

Right products for wet rooms

Safe, effective treatment suited to tiles, grout, silicone and painted ceilings.

Practical prevention

Specific advice for your bathroom — not generic “open a window” tips.

We check above the ceiling

If there’s a leak feeding it, we find it rather than treating the symptom.

FAQ

Common questions

Why does the mould on my bathroom ceiling keep coming back?

Because the cause is still there — steam and condensation that isn’t being cleared, often from a weak or missing exhaust fan. Until the room dries out faster after showers, the mould keeps returning no matter how well you clean it.

Can you get rid of mould in the silicone and grout?

We treat it where it can be cleaned. Silicone and grout that’s deeply stained or breaking down is often better replaced — we’ll tell you which applies.

Is bathroom mould dangerous?

The common bathroom mould is more of a health irritant than a crisis, but it can affect allergies and asthma and it damages surfaces over time. It’s worth dealing with properly, especially in a rental.

What can I do to stop it?

Run the exhaust fan during and for 15–20 minutes after showers, squeegee the walls, and keep the door open to let the room dry. We’ll give you advice specific to your bathroom, including whether the fan is actually up to the job.

Names all three crews

I genuinely couldn't count the number of times Harold and his team have come to the rescue.

I first met Harold in January 2024 through the real estate agency I was working for at the time, and he has become one of the few tradespeople I know I can rely on without hesitation.

As a Property Manager, you place an enormous amount of trust in the contractors you engage. You need honest advice, practical solutions and confidence that they're doing what's right by your owners and tenants, not what's most profitable. Harold consistently delivers exactly that.

From general property maintenance with 1HandyDad, to mould remediation through Mould Assassins and emergency flood and water damage restoration with Flood Responders, Harold and his team have helped prevent countless headaches and unnecessary losses for not only myself, but my investors and tenants. Every job is approached with professionalism, integrity and genuine compassion.

If I could give six stars, I absolutely would. I couldn't recommend Harold and his team more highly. They're the kind of people you hope you never need, but when you do, you'll be incredibly glad you called them.

Thanks for always having my back ❤️

It’s an airflow problem

Recurring bathroom mould is almost always about steam that isn’t clearing. Fix the ventilation and the mould loses what it needs to grow.
