Crew 02 · Mould remediation · Brisbane
The complete fix: find the moisture, contain the area, remove the mould safely, and verify it’s clear. Remediation is the process — removal is one step within it.
Overview
People often use “mould removal” and “mould remediation” as if they’re the same thing. Removal is taking away the mould you can see. Remediation is the whole controlled process that gets a property back to a normal, healthy condition — and keeps it there.
That means investigating and fixing the moisture source, containing the area so spores don’t spread, safely removing affected materials, HEPA-cleaning the space, and then verifying the result — ideally with independent clearance testing. It’s the right approach for larger, recurring or health-sensitive mould problems.
We follow an IICRC-aligned remediation process and can bring in an independent occupational hygienist for testing and clearance, so the outcome is documented — which matters for rentals, sales and insurance.
What's included
We find why the mould is growing — leaks, condensation, poor ventilation, rising damp.
The area is sealed and put under negative pressure so spores stay contained.
Affected materials removed and mould cleaned using HEPA filtration throughout.
Surfaces treated to remove residual growth from the materials that stay.
The moisture is dried out so the environment no longer supports mould.
Independent testing to confirm the space meets a normal fungal condition.
How it works
Inspect the mould and moisture, and test where it helps scope the job.
Seal the area and set HEPA filtration before any disturbance.
Remove affected materials, clean, treat and dry the space.
Independent clearance testing and a written outcome.
Why choose us
Source, containment, removal, drying and clearance — not a surface wipe.
Clearance testing through a hygienist we don’t control keeps it honest.
A written outcome matters for tenants, owners, sales and insurers.
We work to protect the people in the building throughout the job.
FAQ
Removal is taking away visible mould. Remediation is the full process — finding and fixing the moisture, containing the area, removing and treating the mould safely, drying it out, and verifying the result. For anything recurring, large or health-sensitive, remediation is the right approach.
Because the people who do the remediation shouldn’t be the only ones who say it worked. An independent occupational hygienist tests and confirms the space is back to a normal condition — impartial proof for you, your tenant or your insurer.
If the mould is small, one-off and on a hard surface, removal may be enough. If it keeps coming back, covers a large area, involves porous materials, or health is a concern, remediation is the safer, lasting answer. We’ll advise honestly after inspecting.
Often yes — containment keeps the work isolated. For larger jobs we’ll talk you through which areas to avoid and for how long.
More from Mould Assassins
Recurring mould usually means moisture is getting in. Our Flood Responders crew can find the source and dry it properly.
Reviews
Real feedback from real customers we've helped.
I genuinely couldn't count the number of times Harold and his team have come to the rescue.
I first met Harold in January 2024 through the real estate agency I was working for at the time, and he has become one of the few tradespeople I know I can rely on without hesitation.
As a Property Manager, you place an enormous amount of trust in the contractors you engage. You need honest advice, practical solutions and confidence that they're doing what's right by your owners and tenants, not what's most profitable. Harold consistently delivers exactly that.
From general property maintenance with 1HandyDad, to mould remediation through Mould Assassins and emergency flood and water damage restoration with Flood Responders, Harold and his team have helped prevent countless headaches and unnecessary losses for not only myself, but my investors and tenants. Every job is approached with professionalism, integrity and genuine compassion.
If I could give six stars, I absolutely would. I couldn't recommend Harold and his team more highly. They're the kind of people you hope you never need, but when you do, you'll be incredibly glad you called them.
Thanks for always having my back ❤️
Our professional network
We work alongside occupational hygienist Jay Raval of Independent Occupational Hygiene Consultants (IOHC) in Brisbane for independent clearance testing to close out remediation. Because IOHC is independent of our work, any assessment, clearance or second opinion carries the weight of a qualified professional with no stake in the outcome — real confidence for you, your tenants and your insurer.
